“if you like it, then you shoulda put a ring on it”
Or, you know, vote for me. Because some secret admirer has nominated me for a Lezzy
Best Lesbian Engagement/Wedding Blog, in fact. I am, of course, eternally grateful, and would love to encourage you to vote for me.
While it is true that i am lesbian-engaged, and planning on being lesbian-weddinged, i’m afraid – having, at the moment, written a grand two posts on the subject – that my nomination confirms what i have begun to fear after a recent date with The Google: there aren’t any damn resources for getting gay-weddinged. It has occurred to me that the other reason for this nomination may have been a subtle nudge to post more often, damn it! I appreciate your encouragement, secret admirer! In return for your unwarranted faith in me, an update on the grand decisions we have made so far:
We are getting married! (Despite the whole award thing, i’m not keen on the “gay-married” phrasing, but that’s serious and stuff, so for later.)
We bought a Notebook – it’s pretty and green and has a pocket in the back and a wrap-around magnetey closure. It even has things written in it now.
We bought our real engagement rings (as compared to our original engagement rings).
Hers is to be wood, and is being made by folks on etsy right now. More on that when we have it. Mine was gotten from Ruby Lane (kind of etsy-ish, but more focus on antiquey things). I think it is the prettiest thing ever, and am wearing it on my middle finger ’till i can get it resized. More on that when it’s finished, as well – promise.
We have decided to have the most fabulous man ever be our officiant. Only we haven’t asked him yet. In fact, i don’t think we’ve told him we’re engaged yet (not that we’re being secretive, only it’s only been a month and we just haven’t gotten to see him yet).
She agreed to my “first dance” song idea. And it wasn’t like “yes, dear, that ‘music’ stuff you’re so into is nice” – it was more a stop-and-listen and bright-eyes-excited-face “yes.” So. Yay! More on that when i can get the song widget to freaking work.
And, lastly, we’ve agreed that families are complicated – not something i particularly did agree with before this. More on that later, i’m sure.
Looks like i’ve got a lot of updating to do later.
Not now, though, because now you should be going to vote for the Lezzys, and, while it would be cool to be voted for, there are also some of my favorite blogs up for awards (Just Like Jesse James, Sugarbutch and Sexuality Happens, particularly), and others i don’t read (yet), but who i’m sure are lovely people. And the fine print, from the source:
