“you wish that it was sunny and the sky would stay blue”

May 11, 2009

Yeah, it's a little like that around here.

It has rained every single day this month. And more often than not for a week before that. In fact, i checked the weather thingy – as of today, we’ve had twice our average rainfall for May. I hadn’t realized how used i had gotten, upon moving inland, to humidity under 98%. Everything molds. Paint is peeling. The floor is damp.

Also, Jamie’s Idiot Dog is no longer house trained due to an acute case of princess-paws (an affliction of the No Brain that precludes going outdoors for fear of The Damp). He’ll run through the mud to play fetch, though. So, i’ve been playing Evil Stepmother, and he’s been spending a lot of time in his crate. Moron.

For added fun Dog is terrified of thunder. He’s been addle-brained and underfoot and pathetic for most of the last month. And there’s dirt in the bed. I tried to be a hard-ass last night ’cause i’m tired of it. He ended up in the back corner of the closet under the stairs – went over a two-high, three-deep stack of boxes to do it.

I used to love storms.

Oh, and no line-drying, thanks.

I love you darling but I feel really sorry for the dog. Have you considered giving him something for anxiety during T-storms? I give my dog some homeopathic stuff that seems to help a little, but you can also get an Rx from the vet.

Hope the weather improves. We’re having lots of rain & storms here, so I know how you feel.

oh, yes, as you ought! hadn’t thought of it (i’m bad at this medical solutions thing in the most obvious cases). fortunately, the storms seem to have abated, but i ought to look into it. generally a good cuddle in the bed does the trick, but sometimes there are things to do and that’s not an option, so…
